Was helping my friend clean his house and he gave me this. It is now in the trunk of my wagon. The filter and light work. I want to just sell on Craigslist but don't know if it's worth anything. two more pics after
Yes I will empty and clean it out.

If I could start over on an aquarium, I would go canister and just become a masochist - anything that didn't rely on these craptastic filters.

I've had a 10-gallon tank at various times throughout my life, tried different filters, etc. Used, I would guess that the tank, filter and hood are worth about $20. If I were buying it for my house, I'd scrap the filter and get a new one. Those hang-on-the-back filters are a pain, and don't work terribly well.

Rule of thumb retail is around a dollar a gallon (give or take) for the glass. More once you get above 75 gallons. Also, what kind of filter? Some of the hang ons are pretty good, while others make better doorstops.
With all the stuff, it seems like a decent starter kit. 20 gallons, I'm guessing? I would start at 40 with a more realistic expectation of 20-30? A lot does depend on the rest of the stuff you have and the name on the filter.

30-40 bucks (cleaned). On the other hand you could get some sand, plants and fish and have a new kind of night-light for them romantic evenings....

I have three aquariums in my house. What would you like to know?
